This site is provided as a public service by Social Ecology, Inc. (http://www.socialecology.com). It is used to assemble comments about policy issues and proposals affecting the nonprofit sector in the United States.
The first policy-discussion, initiated in mid-December 2000, related to the questions about nonprofits' use of the Internet raised by the IRS in Notice 2000-84. The public comment period ended February 13, 2001. Comments entered on this site were transmitted as a single document to the IRS on that date.
